They Call Me Mister Fry
They Call Me Mister Fry is Jack Fry’s award winning solo show that tells his true-life story teaching 5th grade as a first-year teacher in South Los Angeles. The show is told in a theatrical setting and style. Critics call Mister Fry a “hilarious, yet tear breaking true story” that examines and explores the interaction of two 5th grade students with Mr. Fry and how they affected each other’s lives in profound ways. Both students are confronted with family tragedies and personal individual challenges. Mr. Fry must deal not only with his students, but his own personal fragilities and character flaws. Guided by his students and his muse, King Arthur-- they all help evolve Mr. Fry from a “buffoon” to a “brilliant” teacher.
